- We believe that we, being children of God, and being created in His image, have, each one of us, in the Life that He breathed into us, that Divine Gift and Power which enables us to fulfill the promise of the Christ Jesus, who was also the Begotten Son of God, which is found in St. John 14:12.
- We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so to them.
- We believe that the doorway of reformation is never closed against any human soul.
I have the King James bible my mother gave me : ). I have a few questions maybe you can help enlighten me.
1)In the end of the passage the Lord says”For this is the Law and the Prophets.” What does the law and the prophets mean?
2) Do you think god wants man teach other men lessons, or do we leave that discipline to god?
-I think god will lead those who seek to the answers, and man just needs to be an example of what they wish to see in the world, not what they think they see. Mark 11:24
1. This passage is part of the Beatitudes. I would recommend you read Matthew 5 in it’s entirety. The Law he came to fulfill was the teaching of the Romans, Galatiams and Hebrews. The teachers during that period were the Prophets prior to Jesus’ birth who predicted his coming and taught those laws. Matthew 5:17 in both the King James, (Lamsa in brackets) reads: “Do not suppose (think) that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets (have come to weaken,) but fulfill. Another words he refers what the Multitudes had learned in the past.
2. I think Jesus was not only speaking His Disciples going forth and teaching God’s Truth and the Way, but to all people to come, as he stated quiet clearly in Verse 16 in the King James and Lamsa translations. Our examples speak much loader than our words. We are to see the world clearly but not judging for anyone but ourselves. Again using our God given gift of discernment. If our everyday living is strong and beautiful and our God Light bright, we will touch the hearts of more people than we imagine.
3. Mark 11:24 is a very misunderstood statement. Though my study and discernment I believe that Jesus was not speaking of simply material wealth but of spiritual and living life style wealth. This may include material wealth most certainly, but that is not the goal or the intention in our seeking. Seeking without following the Way and building our God relationship, which is always goodness filled with God Light, material wealth, even if achieved, may be short lived. Again however we are not to judge others methods. All will receive wisdom at the right and perfect time according to the Law of God. The Law is Love.
