Spirit is…

“Absolute or pure Spirit is unmanifest. For that reason it cannot be experienced or discerned through ordinary perceptions of awareness. Spirit is the fundamental nature of everything-ultimately, the only thing that exists! Anything you can know or sense or experience is an emanation of Spirit. The possibilities of perception are infinite.”

Chirothesian Prayer by Dr. DJ Bussell, Co Founder

Dravidian Cross1

Lord Jesus, take each of us by the hand
And lead us gently up the little Path,
Through the narrow Gate,
Through the Holy of Holies,
Into the Kingdom of God,
Where the power of God
flows through us,
In right use-ness.

And we thank thee, Father,
That thou has heard us;
Thou hearest us always.

And we thank Thee, Lord Jesus,
For leading us
Into the Way of Truth that frees,
The perfect Love that casteth out fear,
The Peace that passeth all understanding,
And the Way of Eternal Life.
Amen

Meditation Quote

If the heart wanders or is distracted, bring it back to the point quite gently and replace it tenderly in its Master’s presence. And even if you did nothing during the whole of your hour but bring your heart back and place it again in Our Lord’s presence, though it went away every time you brought it back, your hour would be very well employed.

– SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES

The mind does not like to meditate; it wants to wander. When someone is not doing very well in meditation, one explanation is simple: his or her mind is elsewhere. The early stages of meditation are like a primary school for the mind. At first we are simply trying to get the mind to stay on the school grounds until the last bell rings. This is all we can do at first. The mind has been playing truant for years; when we try to concentrate, it simply is not present. All we can do is stand at the doorstep and whistle, trying to call it back in.

Even if all we do in thirty minutes of meditation is to call the mind back thirty times, we have made great progress. We don’t have to wait for the day when the mind is completely still to receive immense benefits from meditation. As the Bhagavad Gita says, even a little of this discipline protects us from great dangers.

The Thought for the Day is today’s entry from Eknath Easwaran’s Words to Live By.

Lesson for Week of April 17 2016 Light or Shadow Choice

“…He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life…”

John 3:12

Our scripture gives us a clear picture of what our highest expectations of self, the Way to follow. That is to walk in the light and consciously do our best in every situation that arises. If there is darkness, fright or anyway of the like they come from the shadows so lets turn and face the other direction and respond only when we are facing the Light of Life, God’s Light.

Wasn’t this the true mission of Jesus on earth? Can we not find the Light of Life shown by other avatars life examples? Jesus the Christ LIVED for ALL. Even in so called dying he Lived in this Light-giving manner. Should we not consider at least His Way?

Granted, the avatars or prophets prior to Jesus taught much the same but by edict. If one takes a close look at the meaning and each ones intention, all were showing a way of life.

Last week we talked about the Gentiles, a people considered well versed in the Ways of God; the ways of Righteousness. In the quote this week Jesus was speaking to another group, the Pharisees who were considered a Sect back to the 3rd century B.C. During the time of Jesus, they were under the domination of the Greek. They were in the midst of a protest to preserve their national integrity and strict conformity to Mosaic law. Would you agree that history, although perhaps not your favorite subject, may show us a way we do not have to repeat. We believe there is a wiser and an easier way.

We often talk about Harmony and consciously staying in tune with Divine Harmony.

Harmony is the Way. Like any way it takes time and conscious attention to our every reaction and our heart of heart living in unity, away from the darkness of pain and sadness or in any shadow. It does not matter how deep or dark the shadow, there is a Way and that is Light. And this Way is something we can only choose for ourselves.

In choosing we then have another choice…to Let our Light Shine to the world. We invite you to choose our life long Logo, Matthew 5:16 Not to say that there haven’t been times in my 81 years that I too have not paid attention to the Light-giving powers that are and always will be. Life is a learning process.

This Logo doesn’t guarantee shadows will never appear, but when they do and we acknowledge that our choice will serve best if in the Light. Shadows are not near as crazy or frightening when we turn and face the Light.

Metaphysically, the Pharisees represent a state of consciousness that is concerned with the formalities and customs of the external realm or the world. The realm of form or what we today refer to as worldly pleasures and things. Is that the consciousness, the consciousness of the shadow or the Light? Which Way of Life shall we choose? Let us all give these questions, in view of this old way and it’s results, some thought, prayer &/or meditations this week. Shine The Light upon them. Find the Harmony within the Light, Love and Oneness of our Highest Consciousness.

Til next week I remain filled with Gratitude to all my teachers and for this time to share. I welcome comments and questions.

Lesson for April 10, 2016

gg

Then Simon Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons; But among all people, he who respects him and works righteousness is accepted with him.” Acts 11: 34-35

For purpose of fully grasping the significance of this verse in our world today I’ve chosen to quote the entire 34th and 35th verse. Luke, a highly educated physician from Greece and disciple of Jesus The Christ is the credited author.

Metaphysically the name Luke means: Luminous, light-giving. One who ceases to cling to material/worldly things, abiding in peace and joy. We can always and certainly today benefit by increased luminosity.

Luke was speaking to the Gentiles. The Gentiles of the Bible comprised all nations and peoples not of Israelite origin or faith, who at that time were considered well versed in the Ways of God; the ways of Righteousness. In truth there was no and is no separation in Righteousness. Right-Use of God’s Law of Love.

Gentile metaphysically meaning, a state of mind unregenerate or emotion outside a Higher State of consciousness. Perhaps a State we may find ourselves in situations and events. However today we are all privileged to have a broader understanding of The Way and truly we are expected to use this understanding with wisdom.

The principles of Luke’s message still applies today perhaps with the emphasis on living in the Light and Love of God in the Right-use of Goodness in our choices. Doing so by using our Highest Mind Consciously. As God is no respecter of persons, we too must be open to accept not judge, but be discriminating with care and God’s Grace. An expanded use of our gift of discernment in every day life and living.

When we live consciously in the Light and Love we shall discover a new Nirvana, like that spoken of by Tagor, Nirvana is not the blowing out of a candle. It is the extinguishing of the flame because day is come.”

When a new day or a new approach to living presents by its dawning, we each are filled with Light, the candle has served us well. That may be a new meaning of nirvana, but we trust it will be considered with careful High Minded Consciousness in your prayers and meditations.

In Gratitude present this as an opportunity to share and trust that your week is filled with new visions, oneness, discoveries and new dawnings of Love, Light and Joy.
